Lok Chi Association Hosts “Step Into My World” Art Exhibition at Hong Kong Arts Centre

The Lok Chi Association’s “Step Into My World” art exhibition took place at the Hong Kong Arts Centre from October 21 to 27, 2026, showcasing the creative talents of people with intellectual disabilities.

The Lok Chi Association presented the “Step Into My World” art exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, located on the 5th floor of the Pao Galleries in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The event ran from October 21 to October 27, 2026, with an opening ceremony held on October 23 at 3:30 pm.

The exhibition was open daily, with visiting hours from 2:30 pm to 7 pm on the first day, October 21, and from 10 am to 7 pm from October 22 to 26. On the final day, October 27, the exhibition closed earlier at 5:30 pm. Admission to the exhibition was free, encouraging broad public participation.

Funded by the Social Welfare Department’s Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities, the exhibition brought together works from two art projects: “Flow Arts” and “Arts Infinity II.” It featured a variety of artistic mediums, including pour painting, cyanotype, ceramics, and traditional painting.

The artworks on display highlighted the vibrant emotional world and unique artistic talents of people with intellectual disabilities. Through their creations, the artists invited visitors to slow down amid the fast pace of city life and experience their personal perspectives with sensitivity and openness.

To enhance visitor engagement, guided tours were offered on October 22 and October 27, with four time slots available each day. These tours provided deeper insight into the artworks and the artists’ creative processes.

The exhibition’s venue, the Pao Galleries at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, provided a prominent platform for showcasing these diverse artistic expressions. The event underscored the importance of inclusive cultural activities that celebrate the abilities and voices of people with disabilities.

Why it matters

This exhibition offered a valuable opportunity for the public to connect with the artistic expressions of people with intellectual disabilities, promoting greater understanding and appreciation. By providing free access and guided tours, the Lok Chi Association and its partners fostered inclusivity and awareness within Hong Kong’s cultural scene.
