The festival focuses on preserving Hong Kong’s rich film heritage, having restored nine classic Hong Kong feature films to date. Screenings are scheduled for selected weekends from November to December 2026 at the M+ Theatre.
A highlight of the evening was the charity auction featuring six works by important Asian artists generously donated by the artists and their galleries. Notable contributors included Aiwen Feng with MASSIMODECARLO, Qingyan Li, Jianyu Duan with Vitamin Creative Space, Lili Liu with Shao Fan, Bing Li, and Takashi Murakami with Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd. Funds raised from the gala will be fully allocated to the future development and operational expenses of M+, including collection acquisition and preservation, exhibitions, commissioned works, research, public programmes, educational initiatives, and nurturing the next generation of artists and cultural talents.
M+’s permanent collection exceeds 9,000 items, primarily from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and other parts of Asia. The Sigg Collection at M+ is recognised as one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of contemporary Chinese visual art.
